Kimberlé Crenshaw created and defined the term intersectionality as:
"a prism for seeing the way in which various forms of inequality often operate together and exacerbate each other."

(Crenshaw, K. (1989). Demarginalizing the Intersection of Race and Sex: A Black Feminist Critique of Antidiscrimination Doctrine, Feminist Theory and Antiracist Politics. U.Chi.Legal F., 1989 - HeinOnline.)

The purpose of this directory is:

- to be a resource for all couples planning their wedding as well as other vendors within our local wedding industry searching for wedding vendors who are: Queer-Affirming, LGBTQ+, Anti-Racist, and/or BIPOC.

- to provide accountability for vendors that identify as anti-racist AND allies to the LGBTQ+ community.

A note from the Creator:
As a white, Queer vendor, I believe my lane in this project is to hold accountable my fellow white vendors while amplifying BIPOC vendors. I created this to be a resource first and foremost and only. I do not seek to benefit from this directory in any way that promotes me. I am always open to feedback and would love to hear from you if you have any comments or critiques you'd like to share with me!
